GETTING TO GUANAJA
The best and easiest route to Guanaja Island is to fly into Roatan, Honduras from Houston, Miami, Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Major airlines providing service to Roatan (RTB) are United, US Air, American Airlines, TACA, Avianca and Delta. It is important to arrive to Roatan (RTB) before 3:00pm allowing ample time for the connecting flight to Guanaja Island (GJA). Schedules both On Roatan and Guanaja Island are fluid and can change without notice. Variable changes due to adverse weather, Flight arrival times and other unforeseeable changes are possible. R/T flights Roatan-Guanaja-Roatan is approximately $200 per person. Our concierge service will gladly make the reservations for you and add it to your trip invoice. On Roatan and Guanaja there is a $4 USD tax that passengers will pay before departure for domestic flights.
Once you arrive to Roatan you will collect your bags and clear immigration/customs and proceed into the main terminal. You will check in to the designated airline counter, check your bags and collect your boarding pass to the Guanaja Island connecting flight. This flight is short, usually a 25 minute ride.
Upon your arrival on Guanaja you will be met by one of the End of the World’s customer representatives and transported to the Resort by boat.
Guests may also choose to fly into the Honduran gateway city of San Pedro Sula and connect with the afternoon flight that takes you through La Ceiba on on to Guanaja Island. Returning home From Guanaja Island to San Pedro Sula usually requires to overnight either in LA Ceiba or San Pedro Sula. The End of the World Concierge services can make reservations to stay in Hotels in either city and plan for some fun sightseeing as well. Airlines that offer services into San Pedro Sula (SAP) Honduras are: United, Delta, Spirit, American, Avianca, TACA and Air Mexico. Depending on the time of travel during the year you can find some really good bargain prices.
Flights from Guanaja ( GJA) to Roatan (RTB) and La Ceiba (LCE) depart approximately 10:30am and arrive to Roatan approximately noon to connect with your international connections. The End of the World will provide transportation back to the airport. International departure tax is approx. $45 per person and must be paid prior to boarding your international flight at the Roatan airport.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: A valid passport is required for all visitors to Honduras and must be valid with at least six (6) months beyond the duration of your stay. Citizens of the USA, British commonwealth, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica and the EU are not required to have visas.
